Board of Directors

Meet Our Team!

Most families these days survive financially on 2 family household incomes.  When a parent leaves the workforce financially and economically those families suffer. We are here to help support your children and your family so you as a parent can get out there and tear up the world knowing your children are safe, growing, and learning and will be ready for you to pick them up after your long day of hard work and contribution into society.

We have a strong partnership of professionals working hard to move LACA forward, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this vision to life for the Blooming Prairie community.

Jessica has been a Blooming Prairie resident for the last 17 years. She received her B.A. in Family Studies and Biomedical Studies from St. Olaf College. She received her Master of Health Administration (MHA) with an emphasis in education in 2014. Jessica has been an EMT since 2003 and has served on the Blooming Prairie ambulance since moving to Blooming Prairie in 2006. As an EMT she also serves as the treasurer and Ambulance Commission liaison. She has also taught CPR and first aid throughout the community over the last 17 years. Jessica spent her early career years working as a mental health practitioner before spending the last 15 years in the health care field.

Jessica lives about 8 miles NW of Blooming Prairie with her husband and 3 sons. They have 3 dogs (Pepper, Popcorn, and Nyx) and a tortoise named Sheldon. In the last 2 years they have started the process of raising chickens to keep up with feeding the boys. Jessica has also taken up a passion for gardening and canning to also feed her brood.

Jessica believes preparing children for the next step into full-time education is critical to a child’s success. Her drive to play a critical role will provide success for many years forward.

Whittney Mccamish Float Teacher
Ms. Whittney McCamish,
Assistant Director

Whittney came to Leo Augusta with 2 years of previous childcare experience. Whittney has led lessons in small and large motor activities, and STEAM activities including art projects, obstacle courses, writing, and music. Working with children has been her dream job since she graduated high school. Whittney is particularly good at making new children feel welcome in an unfamiliar environment. She desires to connect personally with every child and uses her organizational skills and patience in every classroom.

It should come as no surprise Leo Augusta recognized several of Whittney’s attributes which complemented those skills required for our Assistant Director role. Whittney has been with the Academy since our doors opened and she naturally advanced to assist with operation oversight.
