AMY HINZMANN NOMINATED FOR MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL BUSINESS JOURNAL 2023 CFO OF THE YEAR AWARD – NONPROFIT CATEGORY
(Blooming Prairie, MN July 17, 2023) – In 2018 Craig & Robyn Kruckeberg formed a new, transformational initiative: The Leo Augusta Children’s Academy, a nonprofit organization. The organization has flourished. Much of this success is because of the childcare and education center’s talented leadership team. Amy Hinzmann has served as Board Chair since the center opened its doors.
Amy was recently nominated for the 2023 CFO of the Year Award presented by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. This award recognizes the achievements of financial officers who play a vital role in making businesses, institutions, and nonprofits successful in Minnesota. Because of Amy’s leadership the Leo Augusta Children’s Academy of Blooming Prairie is thriving. The facility has proven to be a much-needed children’s development and care facility within the heart of the underserved southeastern Minnesota rural area. Amy’s passion for children’s development has led the center’s success.
Amy is the ideal CFO because she brings relevant experience in finance, accounting, HR, marketing and management,” said Craig Kruckeberg, Founder of the Leo Augusta Children’s Academy. “She oversees the board and the leadership of the academy. She has directed the academy’s growth into a regional children’s development center. We are exceedingly proud to have her on our leadership team!”
After several years as a CPA in public accounting, Amy pursued a financial career in the private sector. She was primarily involved in manufacturing. Along came this nonprofit opportunity via her full-time employer, Kruckeberg Industries, to participate in children’s development. Amy was emboldened to do more and help build her community. Because of her savvy accounting and management background, the academy quickly became best-in-class. The academy shines as a model for curriculum and hands-on integrated STEAM programming. This is because of Amy and her leadership.
